I have a bunch of Gold Kiwi's that I bought in mid 2007. They come in a plastic wallet. I have never pulled one out to take a real good look but they well known and very popular in NZ. They sell real well on the local auction site www.trademe.co.nz. I believe they are made from 100% locally mined gold. Newmont has a mine at Waihe and Oceanagold http://www.oceanagold.com has a several mines in the South Island.

Don't have any of the Silver Kiwi's, they were always too pricy. Much cheaper to get monster boxes sent out from the US.

US$59 is about NZ$98 right now. 1 = .5960.

He meant how many US dollars is NZ $59?

j-son, the answer is $59 * .596 = $35.16.

For future reference, just convert it via the web at somewhere like http://xe.com.

They're beautiful. I like the fact that there's a fern on one side and a map of the country on the other. It's simple and easy on the eyes.

I wonder what they want for the GOLD ones? My VHO is they are like the PERTH mint and/or UK (spot plus an arm and a LEG!) which are all too expensive for MODERN coins.

I agree. I don't particularly care for "busy" coins, like silver Phils. Too much going on there, for my tastes. YMMV.

I was there in NZ couple years back. Those KIWI fellows are quite large like a SMALL ADULT HOUSE CAT. They love the dark and they have a like night house zoo (with huge REDWOOD trees too) just out of Rotura somewhat near that huge crater lake with the hot thermals and bubbling streams. The original natives would fish in the crater lake and walk less than a mile and cook them in the thermals (by their homes for winter warmth) some 1000 years ago.

Fascinating.

They had the life of Reilly :36_3_16: except for the winter weather.

Rang them up to enquire..
it seems a 3 week wait for deliveries for my AG coins order..

For AU is about the same timeframe..
The Spread is around 8% for their AU kiwi's..
they ship by Fedex only for overseas orders from what I gather..
